The summer vacation is the best part of the year for most American children. The weather is usually good, so they can have a good time outdoors. If one lives in the countryside, he or she may have fun playing in the woods or fields. If one lives in the city, he or she likes to go to the park to play.

Tom, an American boy, enjoys travelling very much. He always travels in his country. Last summer he did something different. He was interested in Chinese history. So he went to Beijing and Xi'an by plane.

He left on the 15th of July and went back to New York on the last day of the month. He had a nice vacation. During that time, he visited places of interest and went shopping. At night, he took walks to enjoy night views. He had a wonderful vacation.

It is hot and wet in Chongqing these days. I dislike the weather here but I love the food and scenery(风景). This morning, it was rainy. My parents and I just stayed at the hotel and I felt really bored. We went to eat something special—Chongqing hot pot(火锅)for lunch. The food here is really spicy(辛辣的). After lunch, we decided to visit Foreigner Street in Chongqing because a visitor told us that it was a good place to visit. There are lots of old buildings and nice food from all over the world. Everything was nice and we really had a good time in this street.

Last summer vacation, I went to my grandparents' home with my parents. They live in the countryside. They were very happy to see us. The countryside was very beautiful.
