Rock Town

    A young woman was walking through a supermarket to get something. She saw an old man walking behind her. She thought he was just an old farmer and went on shopping. After she got all she wanted, she went to the checkout(付款处) line, but the old man got in front of her.

    "Excuse me," he said. "I'm sorry if I will make you unhappy. It's just because you look like my daughter's daughter. Five years ago she died when she was eighteen years old. And I miss her very much."

    "I'm sorry to hear that and I'm the same age as her," answered the young woman. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

    "Yes," the old man said. "When I'm leaving, can you say ' Goodbye, Grandpa' to me? It would make me feel much better."

    "Sure," answered the young woman.

    As the old man was leaving, she shouted, "Bye-bye, Grandpa!"

    When she went near to the checkout counter  (柜台)，she saw that it was $ 780.

    "How can that be?" she asked. "I only bought a ten-dollar melon!"

    "Your grandpa said you would pay for him," said the assistant.
