Sisters l3-year-old Emma and 9-year-old
Annie Stafki are from Washington, US. They and their two friends love making
movies at home. Most of their home-made movies are filmed on their parents' phone
and then edited on a computer. The movies are about a princess and her best friend.
Last month, the Stafki sisters, with their
two friends, Diana Smolko, l3, and Kadence Stoddard, 13, took part in a movie-
making competition Gig Harbor Film Festival's 72-Hour Competition. The festival
is in its 11th year. This year, 24 teams of different ages and skill levels
competed within 72 hours to film, produce and edit their films. The teams are
in three groups, ages 14 years and younger, 15 to 17 years of age and ages 18
years and older. Each film is about five minutes and includes three different stories.
The winner of the competition will get $500 (3,141 yuan). Each team's film will
be shown at a local theater.
The Stafki sisters and their team call
their film Twisting Reality. The story takes place in nowadays. The first
character played by Emma goes online to play a game. But when she asks her
online avatar (化身) to do different activities, it causes her sister to do them in
real life.....
Whether or not the Stafki sisters and their
friends win the $500, they are excited to see their first movie on the big screen.
"I can't wait to see it," Emma said.
