I had a great weekend, because I had a date(约会) with the sun.

In the 82 days between December 1st and February 20th, 44 days were rainy in my city. We have had a wet and cloudy winter, so we seldom(很少) leave the classrooms or our homes to do exercise. When our principal(校长) knew the weather was fine on the weekend, he asked the teachers not to give us homework. ①He wanted us to have fun in the sun. We got a big surprise when we heard it. How nice our principal was!

I stayed at home yesterday. ②我帮助妈妈洗衣服。And today my family went climbing. There were many visitors and everyone looked happy. We also played badminton and took many photos by the lake. What a great weekend!

The train made a lot of noise as it came to a stop at the station. Martha waited for a while until her father held her hand. Her mother and brother walked behind them.

This was the first train ride for Martha and her brother Brian. They would take the train to visit their grandparents. But today, Mom and Dad wanted to try a different way.

They walked to the middle of the train. They found some seats and sat down. Martha and Brian felt a little nervous, but their parents said they would enjoy the ride. Dad said he liked the train ride because he didn't need to drive all the time. Mom added that she could talk to her two children face to face instead of turning around.

"The train isn't as noisy as I thought it would be," said Martha, "And I can stand up and walk around. I believe I can see everything through the windows.

"The train really goes fast," said Brian, "I like that best of all. If we get on the train in the morning, we can see grandparents before lunch.

Last week I went to Corsica with my friends on vacation. It was my first visit to the island! We took the ship from Toulon, France, to the city Ajaccio. Although Toulon and Ajaccio seemed quite close, it took us eight hours. We chatted and played card games to kill time.

When we got there, I got a surprise because of the weather. It was already October! But we just needed to wear T-shirts and shorts. We went to the beach to enjoy the sunshine and some of my friends even went swimming in the sea. The Corsican scenery(风景) was so beautiful. We had a picnic, went for a long walk along the coast and took lots of pictures.

Ajaccio is famous for being Nepoleon's birthplace, so we also went to the Maison Bonaparte. It was the home of the Bonaparte family. In fact, it was a museum when we visited it.

One day we took the local train to another beautiful city named Corte. We visited the citadel(城堡) and the museum where we learnt more about Corsican history and enjoyed the beautiful views of the city.

The food in Corsica was fantastic and we often visited the market to taste something delicious. We also went to some local restaurant for dimmer and ate fresh seafood. At the end of the trip, we were very sad to leave and I hope to return to, Corsica again some day.

Long time no see! I just came back to Taiwan Europe. 20 hours on the plane (real) made me tired. I know about Typhoon(台风) Melissa from TV news. I (see) many houses in Kaohsiung were damaged(损毁). Are you OK there?

The weather in the mountains of Europe was very (difference) from the weather in Taiwan. It was just early October in Taiwan, it started to snow in the mountains of Europe.

Still my trip to Europe was great fun. Before I went, I was (worry) about the language. I can't speak German(德语) or French. But I was surprised (find) that English was still useful there! I spoke to people without(没有) any problem, and I even made some new (friend) on the train!

I (go) Europe again next summer. Do you want to join me?
