Abingdon School Open Day

    The Open Day this year will be on Saturday, 1 October 2011. The Open Day is for all the family, with activities and displays(展示) about all aspects(方面) of the school. All the teachers, students and parents will attend. The day starts at 9:30 a. m. and finishes at 2:30 p.m.  You are welcome to arrive at any time during the lessons in the morning and afternoon. Please read the outline of Open Day events.

    If you can't come to the Open Day, that's all right. There are many other chances(机会) to visit Abingdon School

    St Helen School and St Katharine School Open Day will be on the same date, so you can also visit those two.

    Parking at the school on the Open Day may be limited(有限的), so you can also park your cars in Lotus Supermarket's car park.  It's just a three-minute walk away.

    Although Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities in the world, you will be surprised that there are still some free activities in Tokyo.

Free temples

    There are many temples in Tokyo. The most famous one is Meiji Jingu. This is the most important temple in Tokyo. If you visit it, you can know more about Japanese history. Of course, it's free.

Free museums

    If you go to Kanto Earthquake Museum, you can see the exhibitions and the memorial for the people who died in the 1923 earthquake disaster.

Free parks

    There are two famous parks in Japan. They are Yoyogi Park and Ueno Park. Yoyogi Park is one of the largest parks in Tokyo. It is now a great place to see street performances. Ueno Park is popular with many Japanese people and foreign visitors.

Free snacks

    Japanese food is delicious and healthy. You can try different kinds of snacks, before spending money on them. You don't need to pay for them when you try them.

     Xinhua News Agency reported 3,000 yellow school buses started their service in Chongqing1the end of 2011. These school buses are like the ones in the US as we usually see on TV and in 2 .

    The school buses are bright yellow in colour. They are 3than the army's cars. They are from the US. The yellow school bus has a big 4.This keeps the students safe when other cars crash into the school bus. The bus also has some   5devices(设备), such as warning lights and a stop signal arm.

    In China, school buses became popular in the past few years. On the bus, except(除了) the bus driver, there is always a 6whose duty is to watch the students. Children usually rest on the bus. Some of them also recite texts. School buses in China are not 7.The fee is different from school to school.
