Plenty of people dream of going to Mars(火星).different from those people, 13-year-old Alyssa Carson has been working(happy)for that dream since the age of 4, according to a new report which(make)by the BBC not long ago.

    Alyssa tells the BBC, "I hope(go)to Mars because it is a place that no one has been to before. I want to take that first step." According to the BBC, she(attend) the USA's three world space camps so far.

    Her father, Bert Carson, tells the BBC that Alyssa plans to be on the first long journey to Mars, which is expected to take place inyear of 2033."We are proud her, "he says." We have the next eighteen(year) planned out." One of those plans is Alyssa attending the International Space University.

    Of course, Alyssa's dream could come with(big)sacrifices(牺牲)than others. If Alyssa goes to Mars, maybeis very difficult for her to return to the Earth. Still, her father says, "If that's the only choice she has, she still wants to go." Alyssa agrees.

    Many students have hobbies, like reading, painting and lookinganimals. Some hobbies are relaxing and others are creative. Hobbies can make you (grow) as a person, develop your interests and help you learn new skills.

    David Smith is a student, and his hobby (be) writing. During the summer of 2011, he spent four weeks on a summer camp. As well as the usual activities, such sailing, climbing and mountain biking, there was a writing workshop with a professional writer. "She asked us (imagine) that we were in a story. Then we wrote about our experiences at the camp."

    In senior high school David(write)a book about teenage life. Many teenagers love his book, and as a result, David has become a (success) young writer.

    David has been very lucky because his hobby has brought enjoyment and success to  (he), but he is also interested in many other things. "I like playing volleyball, too," says David. "I spend some of my free time (play) volleyball for my school team. Maybe I'll write more books in the future, I'm not sure."

    There are many other interesting things to do in life, and we should try to do something new or different.

    Mark Twain tells a boy's story in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Huck is a poor child without a mother and a home. His father drinks too much alcohol and always beats him.

    Huck's situation frees him from the restriction of society. He explores in the woods and goes fishing. He stays out all night and does not go to school. He also smokes. Huck runs away from home. He meets Jim, a black man who has escaped(逃脱)slavery(奴隶制).They travel together on a raft(木筏)made of wood down the Mississippi River. Mark Twain started writing" Huckleberry Finn" as a children's story. But it soon became serious. The story tells about the social evil of slavery, which is seen through the eyes of an innocent child. Huck's ideas about people are formed by the white society in which he lives. So, at first, he does not question slavery. Huck knows that important people believe slavery is natural and this is the law of God. So he thinks it is his duty to tell Jim's owner where to find him.

    Later, Huck comes to understand that Jim is a good man. He finds he cannot carry out his plan to inform Jim's owner of his whereabouts(下落). Instead, he decides to help Jim escape. He decides to do this, even if God punishes him.
