It was a fine spring day for a walk down the street. A mother and her two little girls walked along the sidewalk, happily laughing.1, a hundred small alien ships appeared on the horizon. They started2off some rays. People screamed. Children cried. There was3everywhere.

    There came the ting-a-ling sound of glasses breaking4. People fled in every5. The mother was jostled (推) and lost hold of her6. She raced around shouting and crying for her kids. She7they were lost to her forever.

    The sky cleared up. The aliens were8. But there was no sight of the children. Heartbroken, the9reached her house, crying her eyes out.

    She heard someone10"Mamma". Was it her kids? She frantically (发狂似地)11around. There they were! Hand12hand they came running towards her. She ran towards them too. Her arms stretched out13to hug them. She opened her eyes. The pillow felt wet. It was a dream!

    She raced to the kids' bedroom. Her lovely girls were14peacefully. She kissed both their foreheads and 15"love you".

    Space travel is nothing new. The first spaceship with a human was sent up1space in 1961. Since then, people have not only travelled to space,2many of them have also lived there in space stations for some time.

    The Soviet Union (苏联) sent the3space station into space in 1971. This space station was called Salyut 1. It4as a place where people could live while they observed space and did experiments. The first group of astronauts lived there for 23 days. The Soviet Union went on to make several more Salyut space stations. At about the same time, the United States had5own space station called Skylab.

    Astronauts6in these space stations for a short time. However, it wasn't until the late 1980s when the Soviet Union sent the Mir space station that people began to live in space for a7time.

Living in space stations seems to be fun, but astronauts face many problems. One of them8food. All the9in space stations are put together on the Earth and sent there by spaceships. Because the food has to last a long time, a lot of it has to be stored in cans. The space station does not have a fridge, but it has a cool room to keep fruit and vegetables fresh. Astronauts also eat many other foods10dried meat that do not need special care.
