Crocodiles (鳄鱼) lay their eggs and leave them under leaves or sand. Baby crocodiles use their teeth  (break) their way out of the shells.

    Crocodiles are  (find) in Australia   America. They spend most of their time  (lie) around in the rivers. The crocodile's long tail is used when the animal is swimming. It is   excellent weapon(武器). It can be used to strike(打击) the enemies. One blow will knock down a man or even a big animal at once. The crocodile has a hard neck. It cannot turn (it) head from side to side, so it can only see something in front of itself. The crocodile has its teeth (clean) by the crocodile bird. For its food this bird takes the bits in the crocodile's mouth. This helps the crocodile a lot,  it cannot move its tongue up and down. With its terrible  (tooth) it catches its food. The food may be a fish, an animal, or even a  (careful) man.

    In America, when people say "man's best friend", they don't mean another person. Instead, they are talking  a lovely animal--dog!

    Animals can help people too. Dogs can  (teach) to be the "eyes" of a blind person or the "ears" of a deaf person. Scientists have found pets help people live longer! They make people (happy) too.

    Americans hold "Be Kind to Animals Week" in the first week of May.  Pet shows are held during the week. Even if you don't live in America, you can do this too. How? First, think about how animals make your tile richer. If you have a pet, spend more time this week playing with it. Remember  (give) it delicious food.

    If you don't have a pet, be kind to animals around you. For example, if you see a street dog, just leave it alone, or make (friend) with it. If others around you do bad things to animals, try to speak up. As people, we must protect animals that can't speak for (they).
