    Picture this scene. You wake up on a school morning, and you know you're 1. Maybe your throat is sore. Maybe your head hurts. Whatever the 2 is, your mum or your dad sends you back to bed to rest. This 3 to every kid once in a while, right?

    Wrong. And the living proof (证据) is eighteen-year-old Travis Schmidt. From his first day of kindergarten (幼儿园) to his last day of high school, Travis 4 stayed home sick. At first, Travis didn't think too much about never being absent (缺席的). But then he reached third grade with perfect attendance (出勤率). At that point, Travis decided to see how 5 he could keep it up.

    So how did Travis successfully keep 13 years of perfect attendance? In the first place, he's a very heathy kid.     Once upon a time, there was a group of doves living by a lake. One day, under the lead of their king, the doves flew away to look for food. The smallest dove found some rice under a tree. So all the doves came down and began to eat.

    Suddenly a net fell over them and soon they were all in it. Then a man came. The doves tried to get out of the net, but they couldn't. The oldest dove had an idea. He advised all the doves to fly up together carrying the net with them. He said if they worked together, they would be successful.

    The other doves did so and together they flew off carrying the net with them. The man was shocked. He tried to follow them, but they were flying high. The doves men flew to a hill because there lived a mouse and they thought he could help them. He was a good friend of the dove king.

    When they arrived, the dove king told the mouse what had happened and asked him to set them free. The mouse said that he would set the dove king free first. But the king asked him to free his subjects (臣民) first. And he was the last one to come out.

    The doves all thanked the mouse and flew away together. They smiled and felt closer to each other.

    A long time ago, there was a king. He had a beautiful garden. In the garden, there was a little nightingale (夜莺) singing very beautifully.

    One day the king heard about this little bird's Beautiful voice. He asked his guards to bring her to him and put her in a golden cage. "In this way, she can stay and sing for me whenever l want to hear her," the king said.

    The little bird was so unhappy about being kept in the cage that she stopped singing one day. The king was very angry. He ordered the scientists in his palace to make a robot bird for him. The bird could sing very beautifully too. The king was pleased.

    Soon the robot bird became old. It no longer sang beautiful songs. Just at that time, the king became very weak. One morning, while lying in bed, the king wanted it to sing once again. But the robot bird couldn't sing any more. Suddenly the nightingale landed on the window. She began to sing her most beautiful song. The king was very happy! He became better and better each day.

    After the king was well, he changed a lot and became kind to his people. From then on, all his people cherished (爱戴) him for his love and kindness.

    There was once a wise old woman who lived in the hills. All the children nearby always went to ask her all kinds of questions. Even the most difficult questions, the old woman was able  (answer) them. It was easy for her to answer the children's all strange questions.

    There  (be) a naughty little boy among the children. One day a tiny bird  (catch) by him and he held it in his cupped hands. Then he gathered his friends around. He said, "Let's trick the old woman. I will ask her what I'm holding  my hands. Of course, she'll answer that I have  bird. Then I will ask her if the bird is living  dead. If she says the bird is dead, I'll open my hands and let the bird  (fly) away. If she says the bird is alive, I'll quickly crush it and show her the dead bird. Either way, she'll be wrong.

The old woman thought for a moment and then answered, "It is as you will, my child."

    All the children were quite  (surprise). But the old woman smiled and added, "I have told you the right answer already." Then the old woman disappeared in the hills.
