    In America, when people say "man's best friend", they don't mean another person.  Instead, they are talking about a lovely animal--a dog! These words show the friendship between people and animals.  Dogs and other pets can give joy to people's lives. Some people think of their pets as their children. Some people even leave all their money to their pets when they die!

    Animals can help people too. Dogs can be taught to be the "eyes" for a blind person or "ears" for a deaf person. Scientists have found that pets help people live longer! They make people happier too.  Because of that, they bring pets into hospitals for "visits".

    Americans hold "Be Kind to Animals Week" in the first week of May. Pet shows are held during the week. Even if you don't live in America, you can also do this. How? First think about how animals make your life richer. If you have a pet, take more time this week to play with it. Remember to give it delicious food.

    If you don't have a pet, be kind to animals around you. For example, if you see a street dog, just leave it alone, or make friends with it. If others around you do bad things to animals, try to speak up. As people, we must protect animals who can't speak for themselves.

    There are many kinds of animals in the world, but not only the humans. We live in the same world, and we should be friends. As everybody knows, the humans are the rulers of the world today, so we should protect our friends--the animals!

    But how can we protect them? First, I think we must stop killing birds and other animals, especially the young ones. Second, we have to protect the environment, to make the sky blue, to make the grass green, to give the animals a comfortable place to live. It's not only for the animals but also for ourselves. At last, we should tell more and more people why we should protect the animals and how to protect them, so that we can make everyone do this.

    Our zoo has a lot of  (interested) animals from all over the world. Next  the zoo entrance(入口处) is the Africa Section The lions, elephants and giraffes  (be) in this section~ The lions are smart  the elephants are very big. The giraffes are beautiful and they are so tall. The Panda House is (cross) from the Africa Section. The Panda House is just for pandas. There are five (panda) in the Panda House. Pandas are  China. They are black and white. They are interesting animals and children like  (watch) them very much. (come) and see the new baby panda, Panpan. She is very small and cute. Behind the Panda House is the Australia Section. The koalas are here.  There are seventeen koalas in the zoo. They are very small and they usually sleep the trees.
