    Mary is an American schoolgirl. She is now in Beijing with her parents. She doesn't know Chinese, but she is trying to study and speak it. She often tries to speak Chinese to her Chinese friends. Sometimes they don't understand her, because she can't speak Chinese well.

    It's Saturday morning. Mary goes out. She is on her way to the park. She is going there to see a flower show(展出). But she doesn't know how to get there. She asks a Chinese boy. The boy can't understand her. Then she takes out a pen and some paper. She draws flowers in it, gives the picture to the boy and says something about it. The boy smiles and then shows Mary the way to the park.

    Hello! I'm Bob. Welcome to my classroom. It is very big and new.

    There are 18 girls and 23 boys in my class. In the front of the classroom there is a teacher's desk. On the teacher's desk there is a box of chalks and a blackboard eraser. And a tape player is on it too. The tape player is Miss Green's. She is my English teacher. She comes from England, but now she teaches us in China. We all like her very much. Look! A map of China is on the wall. Four nice pictures are on the wall too. A basketball is behind the door. I often play it with my classmates after class.

    I like my classroom very much.

    Mr White works in an office. He likes  (read) in bed when he is at school. It is bad for his (eye) and now he is short sighted. But he doesn't want anybody else  know about it and he never wears a pair of glasses. It often brings him some trouble.

    One winter morning he (go) to a village school on business. He gets off a bus at a stop in  small town. Then he has to walk there. The road to the village isn't smooth(平坦的). There are stones here and there. He falls over(跌倒) several times  it makes his clothes very dirty. At last he gets to the village. Suddenly (突然) it begins to blow

(strong) and it gets much colder.  His hat is blown off while he is (look) for the school. He has to run after it but he can't catch it. He (not know) why his hat runs into a house. And then he runs into the house too.

    A big woman stops (he) by shouting angrily, "What are you running after my hen for?"
