Mark Twain (马克·吐温) was an American (作家) . He was always  ['bɪzi]. He always  (forget) to do something.

One day he went to a city by train. He wanted to  one of his friends there. When he was on the train, the conductor (列车员) asked him  his ticket. Mark Twain  for his ticket here and there, but he couldn't find it.

The conductor  (know) Mark Twain. She said, " me your ticket on your way back. And if you can't find it, it doesn't  ['mætə]."

"Oh, but it does," said Mark Twain. "I must find the ticket. If I can't find it, how can I know I am going?"

Bill, Frank, Dave and Tom were brothers. Every year they sent their mother expensive gifts on her birthday. They liked to show her how rich they were.

The eldest brother, Bill, had lots of money and wanted his mother to have the most expensive gift, but he didn't know what to buy. So he put an ad. in the newspaper, "Wanted—the greatest gift for my mother".

About a week before his mother's birthday, a man came to his office. He brought a big bird, this bird can speak foreign languages and sing pop songs. The man made the bird talk in French and tell a joke in Japanese. Then the bird sang a beautiful song. The next day, Bill sent the bird to his mother with a birthday card.

The day after his mother's birthday, he called his mother, "Well, mother," he asked, "what do you think of the bird?" "Oh, it's very delicious, dear." said his mother.

On Saturday morning, when David got up, he saw a yellow bike in his bedroom.  

After breakfast, he tried to ride it. Oh, no! He fell off it.  In the end, he said to himself, "I can't do it."

"You can," said his dad. "Maybe(或许) not the first time you try, or the second time. "

"But I can't," David said. ""

The next afternoon, David's dad said to David, "Since (既然) you can't ride it, what about giving it to Jack, your cousin? "

David didn't think that was a good idea, so he took the bike out and had six more tries. Soon, he began to enjoy riding it.

    Rose was born on February 29th, 2004. By 2010, her parents had 6 birthday parties for her. But most(大多数) of them were on February 28th. One day, she knew that only February 29th was her real (真实的) birthday. It comes every four years, so she didn;t want to have birthday parties on February 28th any more. After that, she had only one party. That was in the year 2012. On that day her grandparents, all her uncles, aunts and cousins came to her home to celebrate her birthday. She got so many presents. She thinks it's much more interesting to have a birthday party every four years.
