    No one can change the weather. But if we read the signs correctly around us, we can know how the weather will be. This way of telling what the weather will be like on the following days is called “weather forecasting”. For many centuries and in all countries, people have studied the weather and tried to make weather forecasting. Rings around the sun are a sign of the coming rain. Many people feel the ache of their. bones(骨头) in the joints(关节) when the wet weather is coming. Some birds fly high if the fine weather is coming，but they fly near the ground if rainy or stormy weather is on the way. It is probably because the insects (昆虫) which they are hunting fly low. If you see a rainbow during rainy weather, this is a sign that the weather will become clear and fine. Such rainbows come in the evening. If the stars twinkle clearly at night, then fine weather will continue. If a fog appears in the evening just above a river, then the day will be warm. If the sunset is mostly red in colour, then rainy weather will probably come next morning. Most of the above sayings have been made by people who have used their eyes and brains to make weather forecasting.

    Last summer vacation I went to Taiwan with my parents. Taiwan is really beautiful!   It is always warm and humid(潮湿的) because the sea is around Taiwan. In the north, there is winter, but in the south, there's no winter and you can enjoy sunshine every day. The typhoon(台风) season is from June to October.

    Ali Mountain is one of the biggest mountains there. We went to climb Ali Mountain one afternoon. There are many trees in the forest there. They are very tall and many of them are really old.

    Sun Moon Lake is the largest nature lake in Taiwan.

    We also went to the beach and enjoyed the sunshine. A kind of dumpling with shrimp(虾) in it is my favourite.
