      We all know that Britain and the US are two countries connected by English. But in fact, the differences are more fun. Here are some to share with you.

Get dressed for dinner

      The British don’t all change into evening dress for supper. But they often get dressed when going out for dinner somewhere nice. Americans, however, will probably wear a casual (随便的) shirt to a fancy restaurant. 

Don't finish your food

      The British don’t like to take the leftovers home when eating out at a restaurant. They think the food is dirty once they have pocked at it with a knife and fork. In the US, wrapping (打包) it up to take home is a usual thing.

Get into a taxi

      The British will give the driver an address, then they keep quiet until it’s time to pay. In the US, however, most people think it’s necessary to show the way to the destination (目的地) in person.
