I believe that we can have an important effect on anyone we meet. The right words at just the right time could change someone's life. When I was three years old, my parents discovered I was deaf. After asking many doctors and parents of other deaf children, they decided to put me in a normal school.

    On my first day in the school, the other kids made fun of me because of my hearing aid. And then I saw myself as an ugly kid.

    Mrs. Jordan, my teacher changed all of that with a simple three-word phrase. One morning, she asked the class a question. I read her lips（嘴唇） and raised my hand right away. She called me. I took a deep breath and nervously answered Mrs. Jordan's question.

    I will never forget what happened next. Mrs. Jordan pointed directly at me. With a big smile she cried,

    "That's right, Stephen! "For the first time in my young life, my confidence soared（剧增）.At that moment, I decided that no matter how many difficulties I may face, I can overcome（克服） them. Just from those three simple words, my life changed from that moment.

    How I have changed!

    I have changed a lot! I used to be shy, but now I'm outgoing. I used to (造成) a lot of trouble. I always (浪费) my time in the past. I didn't use to (面对) my problems. I always made some (错误). I used to be (害怕的) of the dark, but now I am terrified of being alone. I (慢慢地) realize that I need to spend more time studying. So I made a (决心) to study hard in this term. Now I can (处理) with my problems. I always (将……视为) my problems as challenges. My parents are (自豪) of me.

    Moving out, moving back

    In the countries all over the world, people are leaving the countryside in large numbers to find jobs in the cities. They leave because the countryside is much poorer than the city and often there isn't much work there. Services such as hospital and transport are usually much better in cities than they are in the country. .

    But in the big cities of Europe and America-London. Pairs, New York, people are moving out of the city. These are usually families who have some money, and want to live a quieter life. They are tired of the noise and the dirt of the city, tired of the crowded streets, crowded trains and buses.  They want a house with a garden, and clean air that isn't polluted.

    So they move out. Some don't go very far, just a little way out of the city, to the towns near the cities. .

There are sheep and cows and green fields! There, they start a new life and try to make new friends.

     After two or three years, many people who have done this feel that it was a big mistake. They don't make so much money and there isn't much to do. The people there are very different and aren't always very friendly. ..

    "It's wonderful to see crowds in the streets and cinema lights, "they say, "I'm so glad I'm back in the city!"
