    One day, there was a blind man called John sitting on the bench with a hat by his feet and a sign that read, "I am blind. Please help me.

    A creative publicist(广告员)named Tom was walking by the blind man and stopped to see that the man only had few coins in his hat. He put a few of his own coins in the hat. Without asking for permission, he took the sign, turned it around and wrote a new message. Then he put the sign by the feet of the blind man, and left.

    Later that afternoon the publicist returned to the blind man and noticed that his hat was almost full of bills and coins. The blind man recognized (识别)his footsteps and asked if it was he who had changed his sign. He also wanted to know what the man wrote on it.

    The publicist said, "I just wrote the message a little differently." He smiled and went on his way.

    The new sign read, "Spring has come, but I can't see anything."

    World Environment Day is on June 5th every year in the world. It makes people realise the problems of our earth. From June 5th to 16th of 1972, the UN had a meeting in the capital of Sweden(瑞典)-Stockholm. This was the first meeting to study how to protect the environment.

    We have only one earth, so everyone should do some- thing to protect our earth. We should try to do the 3Rs every day-reduce(减少), reuse and recycle. We should buy things without lots of packaging(包装), Use many things in our neighbourhood-we don't have to travel very far and so we can reduce pollution. Recycle all the things you use. Carry reusable bag for shopping.

    At home, we should try to save water and electricity every day. When we go out, we'd better walk, ride bikes or take a bus. Try to plant more trees and use less paper to protect the forests on the earth. And we should see every day as World Environment Day and try to do anything to help our environment.
