I was once a volunteer in an English village. It was quite different 1 my home in Sweden. Jane, one of the volunteers from Tanzania， had a friend who was very 2.

She 3 all her pocket money to help her friend. It meant that she didn't have much 4 to eat, and she had no money to go anywhere outside the village or buy more clothes.

I was 5_moved that I felt I had to do 6 , too. So when I bought food one day, I 7 to buy her some rice. I started 8 to the woman in the shop (named Gloria who was also a volunteer about my friend Jane. The woman looked at me，being surprised," Does she eat noodles?" she asked. "Yes," I replied.

She immediately started 9i bag with noodles, cookies, sweets and other things until the bag was 10"Give her this for me. "I couldn't believe 11 but cried with happiness.

Imagine Jane's look when I gave her the 12!I had never 13 her so happy! A few weeks later, she found Gloria in the shop and 14 her in person.

The two wonderful women really showed me 15 true kindness is. And the impression(印象) will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Every schoolday, we use schoolbags to carry all of our things to school. They are a big part of our lives. But have you ever thought about the history of the schoolbag?

In the Han Dynasty, students in old-style private schools used bamboo boxes to carry books to school. People consider the bamboo boxes to be the earliest schoolbags. There were usually two or three layers in the box. Kids put different things like books, brushes, ink stones and paper in the boxes.

Hundreds of years later, people developed a new kind of schoolbag called the budai, or the "hippocket". The budai was lighter than the bamboo box. With the founding (成立) of the People's Republic of China, military rucksacks became popular. Many people carried them when they were at school. Ask your grandparents or parents about these bags. Maybe they can tell you about their experiences of carrying them when they were at school.

A new style of schoolbags has appeared in recent years. Many of them have colorful and fashionable designs on them, such as pictures of cartoons or pop stars.

And they are more comfortable to use. Some students pull wheeled bags filled with heavy textbooks and others carry backpacks.

Schoolbags are still changing. Can you imagine what future schoolbags will be like?
