Our life is full of the unexpected. However, what really matters is not
the thing itself. The way we see it decides whether we can be happy or not.
When Ken walked out of his home last Friday, he had no idea what
would happen. Ken had worked at the job in the steel factory for 30 years, so
walking out of the door had become something he, no doubt, thought normal.
Ken worked in a part of the factory where no other people were
working that morning. All of a sudden, the steel beams(横梁)began to move. The next thing Ken knew was that 25,000 pounds of
steel was on his legs. Since no one was around Ken pulled out his mobile phone
and called 911.
Soon the other workers saw the police cars at the factory. They ran
to see what was going on. Much to their surprise, they saw Ken pinned(被压制)under 25, 000pounds of steel. Ken was rushed to hospital. However, both
of his legs had to be cut off above the knees. The following day Ken's boss
went to the hospital to see him. The boss asked, "Ken, how are you?" Ken
smiled and replied," Well, I'm shorter than I was yesterday."
Now I say this is a "Wow Attitude". We are unable to
control every situation, but we can control our attitude and how we deal with
it. As long as the attitude is correct and positive(积极的),
we will be happy, our life will be beautiful and our world will be bright.
Ken's" Wow Attitude" is a perfect example of practicing it.
