Whether
you're eating at home, dining out, or having dinner with friends, good table
manners for kids are an important part of every meal. When you teach your child
good table manners, you are giving him important tools for social interaction(社交) that will serve him for the rest of his life.
Come
to the table with his hands and face clean. Teach your child always to wash up
before dinner. This not only shows respect(尊重) for the person who
prepared the meal as well as others at the dinner table, but also is an
important healthy habit.
Whether at home or someone else's house, always ask adults if he can help do
anything to get ready for dinner.
Wait
until everyone is served before eating. Tell your child never to begin eating
until everyone is seated and served.
Chewing(咀嚼)with his mouth closed and not talking when his mouth is full are
two important rules of good table manners. Teach your child to take small bites
and never wolf down his food.
Never
reach across the table to get salt or anything else he needs.
If
you are at a restaurant, teach him to make eye contact with the waiter and say
"thank you".
Good
table manners will make people who are with your child feel comfortable. When
your child shows respect, he will get great things in return.
