Little Tom is a naughty boy. He doesn't like school very much. He likes playing games at home.

    Last Monday Tom's parents went out for a trip. Little Tom didn't want to go to school. He got up late. He had an egg and some bread for breakfast. Then he wanted to play computer games at home.

    But first he called the teacher. He pretended(假装) to be his father and said in a low voice, "Hello! Is that Tom's teacher speaking? My little Tom has a bad cold today. The doctor says he has to stay in bed. So he can't go to school today. He wants me to ask you for a day's leave."

    The teacher was very surprised. It was not like a man's voice. That sounds like Tom. So she asked, "Who is that speaking?" "It's my father, Madam," answered Tom.
